Left 4 Dead - The Movie QnA - Part 1 (Fan Made)
enviado por [L4D2PC] Zomb0 @ 01:48PM on January 08, 2010
A lot of you have probably heard about the fan based movie for L4D. We have been watching their progress and we are very impressed with the ambition and enthusiasm they have for it. It's good to see people really supporting the L4D community. And come on, to say this is a "fan" based movie, where the budget is solely from the team, you have to give them props for the desire to make it and for the support for L4D.
Here is their official teaser;

You can check out our QNA with the movie team below;
Q: What "mainly" inspired you to make the movie? - (As in, what was it about L4D which made you want to create the movie?)
A: Left 4 Dead is a intriguing title for sure, with captivating characters . Moreover a storyline is missing so, since we already started to build some personal works, we wanted to push ourselves to the limit with a more ambitious project, and we chose this title due to the many ideas it offered to build something really exciting.
Q: There is obviously a lot of work involving this, so how big exactly is the crew involved?
A: Initially we were in two (the actual directors/executive producers Daniele Bellucci and Marco Tudini). As soon as we said: "Ok, let's do it" Marco made a very short teaser just to inform the community that something was moving, besides Daniele opened our actual blog on Splinder to keep people updated about our progress with the movie, since we still hadn't material to open a real website. Then after a couple of months part of the actual crew contacted us, like our amazing screenwriter Bryan Schulz and our crazy group of musicians, Pröjekt F. It took just a little more time and work to find the cast since we wanted to keep everything as close as possible to the original game. Till now we counts 16 people among technical and artistic crew, and as we're all huge Left 4 Dead fans we are really excited about this project and we're all trying to make an amazing and professional work, suitable for all the game's fans out there.
Q: As for the music, will you be creating your own themes or are you going to use L4DS?
A: As we said before, we have the artistic support of a talented group of musicians, Pröjekt F (you can find more about them and some nice pics on their myspace or their official fan page on Facebook). They're mainly an industrial metal band based in Montreal, but they're proving themselves excellent even in dealing with cinematographic compositions, as you can hear from the last teaser we released. Let us say that it has been truly an exciting and challengy experience to interact with foreign people as we're all Italians... However, their objective is to focus on the original soundtrack from the game and to rearrange it into something completely original so yes, the movie will have its original score but you'll hear the same atmospheres you heard while playing, with Pröjekt F's professional magic touch.
Q: You mention for the story that you will use some aspects from the game. But most of the story will be original. How much info can you give us regarding the ideas you have for it?
A: Starting this project, our will was to make a brand new campaign, which should have contained elements from original campaings of Left 4 Dead. Then, after looking at the screenplay and some limitations and impediments we met (like money impediments, since we'd like to remember that still no one contributed with donations as many people are saying; until now the movie has been entirely financed by the 2 directors/producers) we decided to slightly modify our first choices and ideas. But to reassure all, keep in mind that original game's taste and feeling will remain unchanged.
